Google’s now showing naviagtion hierarchy in SERP’s

It’s been a few weeks since I had a spare second to write a post so I thought I’d put an update out, many of you will probably be familar with this information but for those who are not it’s now in full action in Google UK.

It is basically that Google announced that are going to be displaying website navigation or hierachy snippets in the SERP’s. The full article can be read on Google’s webmaster Blog.

My Collegue Paul Spreadbury talked about it in his blog on the 18/11/2009 and as of yesterday I have now seen real examples in the search results. It’s not just on Page 1 as you go through the pages they have implemented it.

Currently they do not seem to be displaying both “Site links” and “site hierachy” at the same time.

If you are familar with Google’s Search aim it is;

To get people on and off Google’s Search Engine as quickly as possible with the most relevant information.

Currently it’s hard to say what impact the site hierachy snippets will have on CTR.
