Sales boom for BlackBerry Z10

The Canada-based company have recently stated that they have sold around one million smartphones in the few months that is has been out and have shipped another six million devices around the world.
There has been an unexpected profit recorded over the last 3 months up to the 2nd March resulting in $98m (£64m) which is huge compared to the year before when there was a loss of $125m.
But its share price fell in pre-market trading as revenue fell sharply to $2.68bn from $4.2bn while subscriber numbers also dropped by three million to 76 million.
Blackberry’s share price fell in the pre-market trading due to the high competition of iPhone and Android devices.
There has been a lot of competition between Blackberry, iPhone, HTC and Windows phones because they are all very popular in the market at the moment and there are many mixed feeling for each type of phone.
Blackberry have been slated for having trouble with their service and lots of customers have complained but with the turn around of sales due to the Blackberry Z10, the company seem to be on the up again.
Network science plays a big part in how people choose a mobile phone. If you’re with one of your group of friends who’re all saying that iPhone’s are the best but another group of friends all agree that Blackberry is the best which do you choose? Mobile phone companies are large hubs because they provide phones and services that connect people all over the world. If a mobile phone company create a new product, people go crazy for it because it’s the newest gadget and everyone thinks they have to have it due to advertising and what their friends say about it.
Blackberry’s new phone has done so well because of network science and people agreeing that it is a phone worth buying.
