Tip for adding Google Analytic`s Snippet

Here`s a quick tip for adding Google Analytic`s snippet and any other tracking snippets you plan to use in the website header.

Static page websites with lots of pages can be a right royal pain in the backside adding your Google Analytic`s snippets after you have built your website because you need to add it to each and every page.  So I strongly suggest you add the Google Analytic`s snippet code early on in the design stages.

I hear you already thinking “find and replace all” in Dreamweaver, which can help but if you have a custom header code for different pages then it can mess up your header and possibly overwrite all your meta data.
I’ve seen many forum posts from webmasters over the years who have added their Analytic`s snippet later on after their website has already been set live and manually adding the snippet to each and every page into their webpages. In some cases webmasters have used “find and replace all” to insert the snippet after the website has been built and then start complaining they have to rewrite meta data.
